The “Peter Pan” Neverland Mural Has Been Re-Painted at Magic Kingdom
One of the most dreamy murals at Walt Disney World can be found in Fantasyland, in the Magic Kingdom.
Tucked under some grand wooden archways along a white wall is a stunning painted map, filled with pirates, mermaids, and pixie dust…
We are, of course, talking about the beautiful Neverland map mural, which is painted along the side of the building housing the ever-popular attraction, Peter Pan’s Flight.
The mural depicts the magic of the faraway land past the second star to the right, and we often find ourselves stopping to admire it as we pass through the far end of Fantasyland.
Whilst enjoying the mural today at the Magic Kingdom, MickeyBloggers noticed that one part of the map has just received a change in design, with the original image completely painted over.
The part of the mural in question is the parchment banner, which flies over the North-West side of Neverland. Here, there lies a village of vibrantly-painted tipis and a roaring fire, sat atop a sheer cliff face, with crashing waves down below.
The title of this area of Neverland now reads as the “Never Land Tribe,” on a banner which has just been re-painted. Although it is hard to tell, as it has been painted so perfectly to match the neighbouring areas of Skull Rock, Mermaid Lagoon, Pirate’s Cove, and Crocodile Creek.
Previously, the area was known as “Indian Camp,” and has been changed in favor of being more culturally sensitive.
This stunning mural makes for a popular and effective photo wall at the Magic Kingdom, and we do recommend you stop by to admire it on your next visit. Who knows, you may even spot Peter Pan himself out meeting guests while you’re there!
