New Disneyland Cast Member Nametags Featuring Character Names
Disneyland cast members can add character names to their nametags!
My Disneyland cast member friends and groups have been buzzing last night with the news.
As part of the 100th anniversary of The Walt Disney Company, cast members at the Disneyland Resort will be getting new nametags.
What’s extra special is they can add the name of the character of their choice to their nametag!
As you can see in this picture, it looks like cast member nametags will include their name, to be followed with the character name.
The character name will appear where you would normally see the cast member’s hometown listed.
New cast member nametag timing
Cast members at Disneyland need to fill out a form on the HUB or on the Cast app by August 14.
These nametags will be worn by cast members in 2023.
We haven’t seen the design just yet, we just know that the character name will appear below the cast member’s name.
I would expect Walt Disney World cast members would have this option, too – we’ll let you know as we learn more.
What characters are being chosen?
In the cast member groups I’m in on Facebook, cast members are sharing the characters they’ve chosen on the form.
These characters include:
- Cinderella
- Pua
- Darth Vader
- Thanos
- Hopper
- Lando
- Dot
- Kylo Ren
- Kronk
- Boba Fett
- Groot
- Launchpad McQuack
- Russell
- Dumbo
- Stitch
- Mr. Pricklepants
- Ariel
- Flower
Which characters aren’t available?
Cast members are disappointed to find a lot of their favorite characters aren’t available on the form.
I have at least one friend who wants “The Inquisitor,” but I’m not sure if that name is available or not.
Characters not on the form include:
- Joy
- Pleakley
- Tron
- Maximillian
- Condorman
- Constance (from Haunted Mansion)
- Mama Odie
- Kenai
- Darkwing Duck
- Figment
- Elliott
- Brer Rabbit
- Duke Caboom
- Slinky
- Figaro
- Dopey
- Coco
- Dr. Doom
- Gordon Bombay
- Dr. Facilier
- Mama Imelda
- Quasimodo
Nametags are part of the celebration
Cast members traditionally get new nametags for milestone anniversaries. Walt Disney World cast members have new nametags for the 50th anniversary.
I recently got a special Disneyland nametag in recognition of my time as the Disneyland ambassador.
Which character would you add to your nametag if you could choose?
