Cast Members Celebrate the Reopening of Harmony Barber Shop
It was a momentous occasion in the Magic Kingdom yesterday as the Harmony Barber Shop on Main Street U.S.A. celebrated its reopening after being closed for over two years.
To celebrate the reopening of the Harmony Barber Shop, ecstatic Cast Members were on hand for a special ribbon cutting ceremony.

“It feels like we’re all home,” Harmony Barber Shop Cast Member, Holly. She went on to say, “We made it and we’re here! This is the last piece of a classic puzzle.”
Harmony Barber Shop Cast Members were just as excited as Guests for this experience to return to the Magic Kingdom and Walt Disney World. Melissa Valiquette, Vice President of the Magic Kingdom reflected on how they couldn’t celebrate 50 years of Walt Disney World magic without it being open.

“I just couldn’t imagine celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Walt Disney World Resort without Harmony Barber Shop. Today is a day two-and-a-half years in the making, and this an extra special moment as the final Main Street U.S.A. location reopens its doors at Magic Kingdom Park,” Melissa stated.
And, she’s right! The Harmony Barber Shop was one of the original experiences that opened when the Magic Kingdom opened back in 1971. Since then, it’s been providing countless memories for children and adults of all ages.

While many Guests come for the “first haircut” experience, it’s the friendly banter from Cast Members that really make the experience memorable.
Kassandra, a coordinator for Harmony Barber Shop stated, “It’s amazing that even though time moves fast, I recognize Guests coming back year after year. Together, we share special memories on every repeat visit.”

In addition to the Harmony Barber Shop reopening, the uber-popular Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is also set to reopen beginning August 24! We are sure those Fairy Godmother Apprentices are going to be just as excited as these Cast Members!
