Buzz Lightyear’s Origin Story
The computer-animated film tells the story of Buzz Lightyear, the beloved toy from the Toy Story movies. The film is positioned as one that Andy (Buzz’s owner from Toy Story) would have watched to learn everything about the intergalactic space ranger.
Lightyear focuses on a young Buzz who is deserted, along with his crew, on T’Kani Prime. Together, they work to overcome challenges they face on the alien planet in order to get home.
Eventually, Buzz and his crew face their ultimate challenge: Emperor Zurg. The film culminates as they try to protect their hyperspace fuel from his evil hands.
Fans of the Toy Story films will recognize Zurg as a main antagonist. He serves the same role in Lightyear.
Pixar Celebrates Its Latest Film
Lightyear marks Pixar’s first theatrically released film since 2020. That year, Onward debuted in theaters, while other recent Pixar films – such as Soul, Luca and Turning Red – went straight to Disney+.
Produced by Walt Disney Pictures and Pixar Animation, Lightyear features Chris Evans voicing the title role.
Additional voice actors include Keke Palmer, Taika Waititi, Dale Soules, James Brolin, Uza Aduba, Isiah Whitlock Jr., Bill Hader and more.
Are you excited to watch the film from the comfort of your own home?
