Fun Additions Arrive at Refreshment Outpost for 2022 Epcot International Food & Wine Festival
Nestled between the China and Germany pavilions in the Epcot World Showcase is Refreshment Outpost – a fun, African-inspired spot for refuelling on your globe-trotting adventures.
Each year, for the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival, a new, limited edition offering is added to their menu. So, with the start of the 2022 Food & Wine Festival upon us, let’s go and see what’s at the outpost for this exciting season!
Through the year, Refreshment Outpost is known for serving up a range of drinks to keep thirsts quenched, as well as hot dogs and basic snacks. However, the newest festival addition to the menu is far from simple, and in fact sounds as tasty as can be!
On offer is a serving of Spicy Githeri, a traditional bean dish. At Refreshment Outpost, it is made with white beans, pigeon peas, Ben’s Original quinoa and ancient grains medley, and finished with a kachumbari slaw.
Yum!
And, as you can see from the photos, there is quite a line forming to sample this unique dish!
You can’t have an Epcot festival without specialty drinks, and of course Refreshment outpost is serving up some specialty sips, too.
For the festival, there is a 3 Daughters Brewing Allspice Hard Cider, from all the way in St. Petersburg, Florida. There’s also the Copperpoint Brewing Company Key Lime Kolsch, and the 81Bay Brewing Co. Nairobi Coffee Dark Beer, both also from Florida!
If you’re looking for a souvenir, Refreshment Outpost is also one of the marketplace booths offering this cute classic tumbler, by Corkcicle. A simple black design with the Food & Wine Festival logo, it makes a handy, on-the-go vessel for carrying any beverage you like.
Better yet, if you’re a fan of Corksicle products (or drinkware in general) there’s a whole range over at the Creations Shop to explore!
Will you be stopping by Refreshment Outpost for some Spicy Githeri on your next tour around the 2022 Epcot International Food & Wine Festival?
