Nostalgia Alert! This Original Pressed Penny Machine Is Still In Operation at Epcot
After you pass under Spaceship Earth, Epcot looks nothing like it did on opening day. In the last year alone, massive construction projects have begun to take shape, a brand-new Marvel coaster opened, and a state-of-the-art 3D attraction opened in the World Showcase.
Not much about Epcot is the same for nostalgia-seeking fans, but there is one bit of original Epcot history still in working order in the Parks!
Original Pressed Penny Souvenirs
An original pressed penny machine is still in operation on the second floor of The Land Pavilion! Fittingly, the machine is still adorned in the original color scheme and pattern that matches Living with the Land’s original linear design scheme.
The machine harkens back to a time when Disney themed everything right down to the bottom of a pressed penny machine. This is one of the last pieces of original Epcot that remains in operating order at the Park.
The coolest part isn’t the machine itself- it’s the fact that it still produces the original Living with the Land character designs! Most of the other pressed penny machines around the Resort have transitioned to 50th Anniversary and more modern designs…but you can still take home a real piece of Epcot history in the form of a pressed penny!
The machine is located right next to the entrance to the Garden Grill. We don’t recommend you waste any time if you’re hoping to score one of these original pennies- because they probably won’t be around for long!
