NFL Legend Randy Moss Joins World’s Largest Swimming Lesson at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon
Pro Football Hall of Famer Randy Moss made some waves at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park during The World’s Largest Swimming Lesson event. The football legend participated with nearly 300 students from local nonprofit organizations who learned all about important water competency and safety skills.
Moss stressed the need for kids to learn how to swim. “I just love being a part of something like this, and most of all helping the kids really understand the importance of safety on the water,” said Moss.

The World’s Largest Swimming Lesson is an annual event at various locations worldwide. At these swim lessons, they strive to help the local aquatic facilities interact with their surrounding youth communities. It was the largest lesson site in Florida, with hundreds of students from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida and Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida.

Upon arrival to Typhoon Lagoon, the participating students were welcomed by beach-ready Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse. Following their swim lessons, the students were then invited to get “Wild About Safety” with Disney VoluntEARS, while hanging out with a Disney favorite– Stitch and listening to energetic music by the surf pools.

Following the lesson, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida, Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida and ELEVATE Orlando got to spend the rest of the day soaking up the sun at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon.
