Construction Shifts to Boca Chica Building at Disney’s Grand Floridian
If you’ve been following along with MickeyBlog then you’ll know that Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa is currently in the process of updating their Disney Vacation Club properties.
Our MickeyBloggers dropped by Disney’s beloved Deluxe Resort and Villa property yesterday and the buildings that house most of Disney’s villas are indeed a work in progress.
During our visit, we noticed that work has concluded at Big Pine Key Building.
The project will now focus on the Boca Chica building.
Areas around the construction site have been roped off.
However, some of the barricades have taken a beating during the recent Central Florida storms.
New resort studios are being added to The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa with more than 200 resort rooms now available for Disney Vacation Club Members.
In addition to the studio expansion, new updates are being added to existing villas including deluxe studios, 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom villas and three bedroom villas.
The villas will reopened in phases.
Guests staying at Grand Floridian this summer should expect some work to be carried out during your visit.
However, Disney is typically very good at making sure that the bulk of work is carried out during day hours when most guests/families are at the theme parks.
