Father-Daughter Duo Making Magic and Memories at Disney
Father’s Day is tomorrow, and what better way to celebrate than to feature a very special dad that is also a Cast Member on the Walt Disney World security team. Kevin Mortensen, a U.S. Navy Veteran protects the magic every day and is also lucky enough to work with his daughter Tyler. Tyler works as a guest relations hostess at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
“Being able to work with my dad at Walt Disney World is surreal to me because it means that our dreams are coming true,” says Tyler. “This is something we both have wanted for as long as I can remember. It’s nice having a bit of home here with me in my second home.”
“She’s been a fan of Disney and has wanted to work for the company ever since she was very little,” said Kevin. “To see her progress and get the opportunity through the Disney College Program while continuing to move forward in her career has been the coolest thing for me.”
Tyler wanted to share how proud she is of her dad for never giving up on his dreams to pursue a career at Disney World. “The best advice my dad has given to me is to stay true to myself and follow myself,” she said. “And that a positive attitude can get me farther in life than I give myself credit for, so just being a good person and treating everyone with respect is what I carry with me every day.”
Happy Father’s Day to all the dads and father figures from Walt Disney World!

I know for one Disney is lacking the kind of customer service and just caring for people that it did 20 years ago. The lack of Charectors out in the parks is what makes it Disney. More shows and parades that they are all gone. That is the Disney difference they need to get back to good old Disney. The rides in the animal kingdom like the dinosaur ride and the safari ride that just jolts you all over is not great. The food in the restruants has really lacked.
