Demolition of Spirit of Aloha Pavilion Underway at Polynesian Resort
It is the end of an era Disney friends. If you’ve been following along with MickeyBlog you may have heard the news that Spirit of Aloha dinner show will NOT be returning to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.
Spirit of Aloha, along with Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue was shuttered when the theme parks shut down in 2020 due to the coronavirus. Though Hoop-Dee-Doo is making a triumphant return to Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground later this month, Disney made the decision to retire the Spirit of Aloha.
As you can see from these images taken this morning from the monorail, demolition is well underway at the site.
Once this area is cleared out, Disney will be using the space to expand their Disney Vacation Club properties.
The Polynesian is currently home to DVC studios and bungalows. It’s unclear whether Disney what type of DVC studios of villas will be add in the refurb. .
