BREAKING: Pirate Rooms Discontinued at Caribbean Beach Resort
Disney has announced that Pirate Rooms are discontinued at Caribbean Beach Resort. This includes the Standard View and Water View Rooms.
Lots of folks are cheering about this announcement. Pirate Rooms are often the last to be booked at Caribbean Beach. It’s a popular moderately priced resort that’s on the Disney Skyliner.
So why would such cool rooms be discontinued? Well… not everyone is a fan of their beds.
While these pirate ship beds may look adventurous, they are full-sized beds.
Travel agents everywhere are excited to see these rooms sail away. One commented that when her clients checked in and were offered an “upgrade” to the Pirate Rooms, she advised them to politely decline because it was really more of a downgrade.
There were some great things about the pirate rooms. The barrel-shaped mini fridge was probably my favorite feature, but the gold doubloons on the bedspread were also fun!

As someone who has stayed in a Pirate Room at Caribbean Beach, they were cool, but definitely not an upgrade. I’m a small 5’3″ travel agent that doesn’t recommend these for parties that have anyone tall, or even adult-sized! Check out this room tour video below.
While I had fun in them for my birthday one year, I can’t say the same for my husband, who’s 6’6″. I seer guests away from booking these rooms and dread when they are the only option left at one of my favorite resorts.
While I did love the details in these awesome themed rooms, the beds made them the worst. Even though Disney officials said that Pirate Rooms are discontinued at Caribbean Beach Resort, we hope they’re not making all the piratey-goodness walk the plank!
