Aladdin Cast Members Will Perform at the 2022 Belmont Stakes Racing Festival
Cast members from the Disney Broadway musical, Aladddin, will perform at this year’s Belmont Stakes Racing Festival.

Blockbuster Performance Scheduled
The Aladdin performance, scheduled for Saturday, June 11, will feature several Oscar-winning songs. “A Whole New World” and “Friend Like Me” are scheduled to be performed.
Cast members Jeremy Gaston (previous stand-in for Genie), Jonah Ho’okano (who plays Aladdin in the touring production) and Katie Terza (an understudy for Jasmine) will appear.

The special performance will take place on the Winner’s Circle Stage prior to the day’s main event – the Belmont Stakes.
Aladdin cast members will join several other performers, including:
- DJ Pauly D (a well known DJ famous for his role on MTV’s reality show, The Jersey Shore)
- the New Bee Gees,
- Sal “The Voice” Valentinetti.

Entertainment Joins Thoroughbred Horse Racing
The three-day celebration will commemorate the 154th running of the Belmont Stakes.
A New York tradition, the Belmont Stakes is the final of three races known as the Triple Crown series.
It is the culminating event, which begins with the Kentucky Derby and is followed by the Preakness Stakes. The Belmont Stakes is the last of the Triple Crown races for 3-year-old thoroughbred horses.
Only three horses have won the coveted Triple Crown. The most recent winner was Justify in 2018.

Disney fans are sure to enjoy this exciting Aladdin performance! The production features music by Alan Menken, who has won eight Oscars and a Tony Award. The New York Times has declared Aladdin to be a “fabulous and extravagant!” show.

The Broadway production premiered on February 26, 2014. It has broken 14 house records at New Amsterdam Theater and will soon boast eight productions on four continents. It can currently be seen on Broadway, and in Japan, the Netherlands, Mexico and Germany. October 2023 marks the beginning of a North American tour of the show.
