Why You Should Choose a Deluxe Resort for Your Next Stay
If you’ve ever priced a deluxe resort at Walt Disney World, you know how expensive they can be. But have you ever considered WHY these resorts cost significantly more than the others?
Location, Location, Location
Deluxe resorts are located in prime locations near each of the theme parks. This means you will spend less time on transportation getting to your destination.
One of the newest additions making Grand Floridian even more convenient to Magic Kingdom is the walking path.
Not only can you walk from the exit of the theme park to this deluxe resort, you can continue on to the Polynesian skipping long lines for the monorail or boats.
Some of the deluxe resorts provide the most amazing views on property. Stay in the Magic Kingdom area and you can book a room with a view of Cinderella Castle. And of course that includes a view of the nighttime fireworks show Enchantment.
Don’t want to splurge quite that much? There are views of the fireworks from public areas at each of the Magic Kingdom area resorts as well.
Room Size
Whether traveling with littles or your party is all adults, the size of the room can make a difference in how much you enjoy your stay. Especially when everyone is trying to get ready to hit the parks in the mornings!
Kids need (and take up) space in the room for their toys and to keep busy. If you have 2 or more kids, you know they will fight for that space… Am I right? And with value resort rooms only offering 260 sq ft, that’s just not enough!
Deluxe resort room sizes vary. For example, rooms at Contemporary Resort provide up to 422 sq ft of space providing a much more pleasant in-room experience. Deluxe properties provide the most room for guests to “spread out”.
Pools
Of course, all Disney hotels have pools. And this is super important since you’re in the middle of Florida! But not all pools at Disney are created equal.
Deluxe resort pools provide some of the best theming. Can you imagine your family hanging out at the Volcano Pool at Polynesian Village? Just look at that view!
Beach Club and Yacht Club share Stormalong Bay. Some consider this more of a mini-water park than a pool.
With a shallower sand play area, lazy river, and a deeper swim area, your family could spend all day here which is perfect for a rest day from the parks.
Too many big kids in the pool for your little ones? No worries! Disney has water play areas that will keep them busy until nap time. This is my favorite located at Grand Floridian.
Bonus Reason – Extra Time in the Parks
Not enough hours in the day to enjoy the parks? Disney deluxe resort guests get an extra 2 hours at either Magic Kingdom or EPCOT select nights each week. Less wait times for attractions, shopping, and dining!
There are so many more reasons to love the deluxe resorts at Walt Disney World. I have shared just a few of them with you here. So tell us in the comments, why do you choose a deluxe resort for your family vacation?
