All of us at MickeyBlog want to wish a very happy birthday to our favorite goofball, Goofy!
Goofy turns 90 today! He debuted as Dippy Dawg on May 25, 1932 in Mickey’s Revue.
Origins of Goofy on film
Goofy appeared in many early shorts and was quickly teamed up with Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse.
These three characters got into lots of scrapes and were quite the comedic trio.
In the 1940s Goofy starred in a series of shorts, including How to Play Football.
Goofy has been in many sports-themed shorts, including:

A favorite Goofy short
My favorite Goofy short is from 2007, How to Hook Up Your Home Theater.
In this short, Goofy wants to watch the Big Game, but his little tv just isn’t cutting it.
So he goes to the store to get a bigger TV and a full home theater … and things spiral out of control.
Goofy in the parks
So many of us have come to love Goofy because of his appearances in the Disney parks around the world.

What IS Goofy?
There has been so much discussion over the years about Goofy – namely, what the heck is he?
Is Goofy a dog? Is Goofy a cow?
Let’s settle that argument right here.
He’s an anthropomorphic dog. He’s a dog with human features – he can talk, he walks upright and wears clothing.
It’s easy for me to settle this because his character started as a dog – but he sure can look like a cow!
