Rare Disneyland Theme Park Items Sell For $80K+ at Beverly Hills Auction
Disney historians will definitely want to take a closer look at some auction items that went to bid this weekend in Beverly Hills, CA by Heritage Auctions. Items that sold yesterday included a Mr. Toads Wild Ride vehicle, Skyway Gondola, Autopia Car and more from Disneyland!

According to the piece there were about 45,000 items auctioned off in total. They items belonged to collector Scott Rummel who is an Orange County voice actor.
Hot ticket items included a buggy from Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride which sold for an impressive $87,000. You can see the image above taken from Heritage Auctions who held the weekend even in Beverly Hills. The buggy from the classic Disney attraction dates back to 1993 and has been professionally restored including awesome details like spinning wheels and working headlights.

Selling for $162,000 was a Skyway Gondola car. According to the auction’s website, this is a prized item for collections as everything on the gondola is original. The car was built by a Swiss company and was used at Disneyland back in 1965. It is also believed to have been used at Disney World before being retired.
However, steeling the show as the highest earner at auction as an Autopia Car which sold for $180,000. It features all of the original components including chassis and tires. It does not have the engine however, which was not able to be sold for safety reasons. The car was part of the Tomorrowland ride back in 1967 at Disneyland and was used for more than twenty years. It was inspired by the Corvette Stingray and features the original Autopia Mark VII insignia. It also features the plastic sign on the front rail that reads “Do not bump car ahead, keep hands inside car.”
