Is “Indiana Jones” Stunt Show Moving Away from Look-Alike Casting?

The Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular has been dazzling audiences for decades with its phenomenal stunt sequences performed by talented, character look-alike stunt actors.

From its incarnation, the iconic roles of Indy and Marion were always cast with the film franchise’s stars in mind. The two leads have historically been cast not just based on talent, but on their physical likeness to Harrison Ford (Indy) and Karen Allen (Marion). 

Now, casting seems to be moving away from the original, ‘look-alike’ stipulation for the show. At a recent performance, we noticed that both the actors portraying Indy and Marion had their own distinct looks that did not mimic the original film characters’ appearances.

In the films, Marion sports a long, wavy black hair style that falls down her back. At the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular, we saw a more mature Marion with a short crop gray hairstyle take on the role (pictured below).

We also noted that the three different (extremely talented) men stunting for Indiana Jones struck strikingly different appearances from Harrison Ford’s original character. 

Despite the differences in appearances, the Marion and Indiana(s) we saw in the show were highly skilled and were clearly more than capable of taking on the challenging roles…so we pose this question to you.
