VIDEO: Disney Releases First Look at TRON Coaster Launch at Full-Speed Test
As we have been reporting, we have been lucky enough to catch glimpses of the much-anticipated TRON Lightcycle Run Coaster tests at the Magic Kingdom. Today, I am so excited to give us another sneak peek as Disney has just released a behind the scenes look at the first launch test of the coaster!

How incredible is that?! I literally have chills!
Those ride vehicles are beyond amazing and just take a look at how smooth it looks!
The TRON Lightcycle Run Coaster was first announced back in 2017 at the D23 Expo in California. Constrction started a little bit after that but during the COVID shutdowns, construction was majorly delayed. Since then though, it seems that construction has picked up and moving along at the speed of “light”-ing!
While construction is moving at a more accelerated pace, Disney has still yet to announce an opening date for the attraction. If I were to make an educated guess though, I see it opening sometime towards the very end of this year or within the first few months of 2023 – especially with the number of tests they have completed on the TRON Coaster in recent days.
Did you know that there is already a TRON Lightcycle Run Coaster up and running? That’s right! The ride is going to be a similar copy of the version that opened at Shanghai Disneyland back in 2016.

While we don’t know an official opening date, one thing is for sure is that this ride is going to unlike anything every experienced at Walt Disney World!
