VIDEO: First Look ‘Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond!’ Opening This Summer
Ever since it was announced the always popular Finding Nemo show would be returning in an all new way to the Theater in the Wild at Disney’s Animal Kingdom im Walt Disney World, I have been on the hunt for more details. Today is the day I have been waiting for as I have a boatload of new details to share and even our first look at “Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond!”
Artists and designers at Disney Live Entertainment have been working closely with Pixar Animation Studios to being the reimagined “Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond!” back to Animal Kingdom. Once it goes live, Guests will notice several changes including a new overall aesthetic.
When bringing the show to lift, Disney has created layered, cut paper sculptures to give the show a new look but staying true to the designs that were used in the original movie.

And, just like the old show, “Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond!” will use live performers, puppets, and hit songs and production elements from the original “Finding Nemo: The Musical.”
The show will feature a new script and also include new set designs including a new LED video wall that has been “designed to visually extend the world created by physical sets on stage.” We are also told to get ready for set pieces that are larger than life including a 32-foot-long sunken submarine and even a fish tank volcano that is almost 15 feet tall!

The set and script aren’t the only elements of the show changing! The total run time of “Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond!” has been shortened to 25 minutes versus the 40 minutes the old show ran. Which is great if you ask me! It allows you to see an amazing show with even more time to explore all of Animal Kingdom has to offer!
Now, lets take a look at our first clip from the new show:

Someone on Rat Chat is saying that in 2023, Festival of Fantasy will be replaced with a new parade called A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart (title still being worked on). Here are some of the details:
It’s a day parade for Magic Kingdom to replace Festival of Fantasy, set to open less than a year from now for 2023. The working title is A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart. The theme is the Dreaming Your Heart in Disney stories, and the float dreams on, set to be a veritable circus of animation and entertainment, with the advertisement calling upon bungee acrobats, wheel of death, jumping stilt, spreader bar acrobats, flag artists, puppeteers and stilt walkers. Float and unit rundown is;
Rumours suggest the parade will only feature around 110 dancers (around 20-40 fewer than current parades in high season), since the balance will be shifted more towards character performers for the new parade.
Characters in the new parade will include Fantasia 2000, Mickey and Friends, Alice in Wonderland, Pinocchio, Winnie the Pooh, Toy Story, The Little Mermaid, Peter Pan, Encanto, Coco, Raya and the Last Dragon, Turning Red, Frozen, Rapunzel, Belle, Aurora, Cinderella and Snow White.
1. Dreams of Fantasy (Mickey and friend and Fantasia 2000)
2. Dreams of Laughter & Fun (Alice in Wonderland and Pinocchio)
3. Dreams of Friendship (Winnie the Pooh and Toy Story)

They also stated some other things about the parks: “Burbank peeps want WDWR to announce A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart at D23Expo this September be open anytime soon. They’ll also announce at D23Expo that TRON Lightcycle/Run is coming to Magic Kingdom and built north of tomorrowland, but that’s no big secret.
