A Vegetarian’s Review of NEW Farmer’s Feast Menu Items!
The Farmer’s Feast kiosk at Epcot’s Flower and Garden has officially transitioned to its springtime menu! The only booth with a rotating menu at the Festival is currently offering up some light and bright dishes to keep you fueled as you explore the topiaries.
Each of the new items (save from the spring lamb) qualify as vegetarian, so I had to give them a try to see how they stack up!
Grilled Vegetable Bruschetta
A grilled vegetable bruschetta is among the new items being served at Farmer’s Feast! Tender marinated then grilled vegetables were piled high atop a piece of grill-kissed ciabatta. I spotted artichokes, roasted red peppers, zucchini, yellow squash, and eggplant on mine!
Look at all those veggies!
Topped with generous amounts of goat cheese, this is the perfect lunch for those very warm Epcot days. The vegetables were perfectly cooked, but it’s the tangy balsamic glaze that really brings together the flavors here!
TIP: This dish can be made vegan by leaving off the goat cheese!
Strawberry Rhubarb Upside-Down Cake
I was ecstatic when I saw this cake as a part of the Farmer’s Feast rotating menu! The strawberry rhubarb cake has been one of my all-time favorite Festival desserts since its Flower and Garden Festival debut…and this year’s rendition is better than ever before!
Turned out of a warm ramekin, the warmth of the cake combined with bursts of fresh, sweet strawberries are a match made in culinary heaven. I would gladly eat the cake on its own, but I’m happy to share that the house-made whipped cream topping somehow elevates this dessert to the next level. Hand-whipped cream makes just about everything better!
Overall, I highly recommend stopping by the Farmer’s Feast booth as part of your Flower and Garden Festival day. Vegetarian or not, the offerings here are bursting with bright flavors that perfectly capture the springtime aesthetic of Epcot!
