Journey of Water is Under Construction at EPCOT
MickeyBloggers Greg and Elyssa trekked all around Walt Disney World Resort today. During their adventure, they discovered that Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana is under construction at EPCOT!
Moana-Themed Attraction
So, Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana is a future walkthrough attraction in World Nature.
Of course, it is based on Disney’s animated film Moana since she loves the water!
Delayed Opening
Originally, Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana was scheduled to open in 2021; however, it was rescheduled for 2022.
October 1, 2022, marks EPCOT’s 40th-anniversary celebration, and Walt Disney World still celebrates its 50th anniversary during this time.
In addition, Walt Disney World postponed this attraction’s opening due to the park’s closure during the coronavirus pandemic.
Construction Commenced
However, as you can see from all these pictures, construction began on this new attraction.
Cranes, dirt, beams, and scaffolding engulf this area that looks like a major construction site. Currently, there is no indication of a beautiful Moana-themed location.
Also, large construction walls block the Guests’ view of this site from the ground.
However, Greg and Elyssa took these pictures from the Monorail, so you will get a great view of the continuous progress during the upcoming weeks.
Beauty Beyond the Dirt
So, once Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana opens, Guests will walk through a garden that features interactive fountains.
Additional water features lead Guests from the Innoventions Plaza to The Seas Pavilion.
A massive (and surely beautiful) topiary of Te Fiti anchors the entire attraction.
Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana allows you to whimsically explore the water cycle, as well as the process of how it sustains our world.
Edutainment at is Best
We anxiously await this new Moana-themed attraction coming to EPCOT soon, it’s always exciting to visit something new.
EPCOT aims to focus on edutainment, blending education and entertainment.
It seems that Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana will achieve this beautifully.
