VIDEOS: Mr. and Mrs. Bunny Lead Easter Parade
With so many Easter treats and festivities in full swing around Walt Disney World Resort, Mr. and Mrs. Bunny took centerstage prior to today’s Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade. Dressed in their springtime finest, the delightful pair waved to guests perched in a flower-draped gazebo during today’s first celebratory performance.
The pair looked to be thoroughly enjoying their return to the parade route! Today’s pre-parade spectacle was the first of four that will run this weekend in honor of the Easter holiday.
Along with the pair, the two bunnies found themselves joined by another favorite Disney rabbit, the White Rabbit from “Alice in Wonderland.”
Dancers reminiscincing on traditional Disney tunes performed to “Easter Parade,” a standard during the Walt Disney World Easter parade for decades.
This year’s ensembles take a lovely note from the costuming used during Magic Kingdom’s opening performances of “We’re Walking Right Down the Middle of Main Street, U.S.A.”
Dancers signaled the return of spring and brought colorful butterflies and flowers to life as they gracefully walked down the route to a new tune as well.
Other hard-to-find characters including the hippos and ostriches that feature in the original “Fantasia” led off the parade for the special guests during today’s festivities.
In a special surprise, Clara Cluck received her own barn float this year accompanied by a number of little chicks.
Other Recent Bunny Appearances at Magic Kingdom
Earlier this week, Mr. and Mrs. Bunny also greeted guests as they searched for eggs at the Hub, the beautiful green space in front of Cinderella Castle.
In a bit of playful fun, they also hid a few of the brightly pastel-colored symbols of the season. The pair posed for photos throughout the day with guests from a short distance away too.
Thorughout the Walt Disney World Resort, Easter treats offered a range of sweet options not only at the parks but also at the resorts. It’s certainly been a scurmptious week exploring all of the cupcakes, chocolate bunnies, and even today’s specialty Dole Whip.
This week, resort guests could also take advantage of a range of Easter basket options available. Both pre-made and create-your-own selections featured in the merchandise locations of the majority of Walt Disney World Resort hotels.
