Soft Opening For Expedition Everest Is Happening Today
Run, don’t walk to Animal Kingdom! First-hand accounts online are mentioning a soft opening for Expedition Everest today!
We literally just got to do Expedition Everest at Disney Animal Kingdom the day before it’s grand reopening. It’s not even listed as open on the app. Twice in 10 minutes.

Expedition Everest wasn’t scheduled to open until tomorrow, April 16th, but it appears Disney has decided to surprise park visitors today by opening a day early.

Expedition Everest closed back in January for a major refurbishment. Disney has not said what the refurbishment entails, but people are hoping the Yeti is finally getting fixed. I would say not to get your hopes up, though.
Upon the official reopening of Expedition Everest tomorrow, the attraction will no longer be an Individual Lightning Lane attraction but it will be included with the Genie+ service. This stays in effect through August 7, 2022.
