Justin Bartha Is Returning to ‘National Treasure’ With Disney+ Series
According to a recent piece in Variety, Justin Bartha is returning to the National Treasure franchise. He will have a guest role in the new Disney+ series.
For those unfamiliar, Bartha started in both National Treasure films which were released back in 2004 and 2007. He played computer whiz sidekick of Benjamin Franklin Gates played by Nicolas Cage.
According to the piece in Variety, Bartha will serve in a guest capacity. The main cast will be new treasure hunters. Though few details regarding the projects have been released we do know that the plot will center around the group searching from lost Pan-American treasure.
You may also recognize Bartha from the Hangover films as well as The Good Fight, Godfather of Harlem and more. He is also a star of stage performing in 2010’s revival of Lend Me a Tenor where he starred opposite Tony Shaloub.
If you’ve been following along with MickeyBlog you may have seen our previous reports that the National Treasure series will star Lisette Alexis as Jess, a protagonist who unearths truths about her families past. Catherine Zeta-Jones will also be in the series as well as Zuri Reed, Jordan Rodrigues, Antonio Cipriano, Jake Austin Walker and Lyndon Smith.
We also know that Jerry Bruckheimer is executive producer along with Cormac and Marianne Wibberley, Jonathan Littman, KristieAnne Reed, Jon Turteltaub, Mira Nair and Rick Murragui. Nair will also be directing and Murragui has serves as a writer for the show.
Filming of the series is currently underway in Baton Rouge.
