Blue Bayou Waterfront Walled Off, Set for Refurb
The waterfront bayou charm is missing at Disneyland’s Blue Bayou restaurant these days – since the waterfront has been walled off!
Pirates of the Caribbean is closed for refurbishment until early summer. To shield guests at the Blue Bayou from seeing the refurb work, Disneyland has chosen to wall off the waterfront.
obviously it makes sense with pirates being refurbed as of two days ago, but blue bayou looks so.. depressing 😫 pic.twitter.com/om3CRMopTh

Now we’ve learned, according to the OC Register, that the Blue Bayou will also be closed beginning April 21 for refurbishment.
Disneyland kept the Blue Bayou fan-favorite experience open during the Pirates of the Caribbean renovation to accommodate as many guests as possible, according to Disney officials.
Reopen with Fantasmic!?
We’re expecting Pirates and the Blue Bayou to reopen before Fantasmic! returns, although reopening dates have not been set.
Fantasmic! is set to return to Disneyland’s Rivers of America on May 28.
In addition to refurbishing Pirates and the Blue Bayou, Disneyland is working to improve traffic flow in the New Orleans Square area along the Rivers of America.

If you’ve ever experienced Fantasmic! at Disneyland, you’ll know that from Liberty Belle Restaurant over to the French Market can get pretty congested. And folks like to take the bridge above the Pirates entrance and then dart through the back alleys of New Orleans Square to get to Critter Country and Splash Mountain.
Did you know that Fantasmic! debuted on May 13, 1992, at Disneyland?
Blue Bayou issues

It’s been almost impossible to nab reservations at Blue Bayou since the reopening of Disneyland last April. Since you can only book them 60 days in advance, there’s no telling if that will improve when the restaurant reopens.
Wall of shame
As seen in this tweet, fans are not happy with the closure of Pirates, Blue Bayou and have other issues at Disneyland right now.
Disney parks is in for a huge reckoning. These were all posted in the span of one week on the Disneyland subreddit. Broken rides, $$$$ restaurants open despite construction, and bonus the park apparently smells like literal s*** pic.twitter.com/abjL0sUucB
