Find Out Some Aquatic Facts in Disney’s Finding Nemo
Did you know you can find out some tubular ocean facts by watching an adored film? In Disney’s Finding Nemo, Marlin is a clownfish whose son, Nemo was taken from him by a diver. Therefore, Marlin takes off on an adventure to rescue Nemo.
Along the way, Marlin meets Dory who is a blue tang fish with short-term memory loss. Together, they take off on a journey through the ocean.
Clownfish Habitats
Just like in Finding Nemo, clownfish live amongst sea anemones, and the duo has a mutual relationship. The sea anemone’s stinging cells protect Clownfish, like Nemo and Marlin, from predators. Additionally, clownfish clean the anemone and protect it from butterflyfishes.
Shark Similarities
Bruce, the shark from Finding Nemo, has rows of razor-sharp teeth. In addition, Bruce heartbrokenly states, “I never knew my father,” during the “Fish Are Friends, Not Food” meeting with Marlin and Dory.
Just like Bruce, sharks have multiple rows of teeth. Accordingly, some shark species shed and regrow more than 30,000 teeth in a lifetime. In addition, male sharks don’t stay around to meet their young. So, poor Bruce’s statement is correct!
Escape Fish
Then, Nemo meets Gill (a Moorish idol) in Finding Dory. Nemo’s new friend lives in an aquarium at a dentist’s office.
Apparently, Gill has tried to escape the fish tank for quite some time. Hence, this nods to how difficult it is to keep a tend to Moorish idols in captivity.
So, you can find out some aquatic facts in Disney’s Finding Nemo. Who knew you could learn some marine biology while watching your favorite fishy friends?
