Disney Flies Flags at Half Mast In Remembrance of Madeleine Albright
If you’ve been following along with the news, you’ve no doubt heard about the passing of Madeleine Albright who was the first woman in American history to serve as the Secretary of State. Albright served in this position from 1997 – 2001 as part of the Clinton administration.
Disney is paying tribute to Albright but currently flying flags throughout the Walt Disney World property at half mast.
This includes flags at Disney’s Contemporary Resort.
As well as on Main Street U.S.A.
This includes the central flag located in Town Square which is also the location for the moving Flag Retreat Ceremony which takes place each evening.
Disney theme parks traditionally take the lead from the government regarding flag protocols.
It is not uncommon to see flags flying in half mast at Walt Disney World as they are flying at half mast in Washington.
Its a fitting tribute to Albright who passed away this week at the age of 84.
Readers are encouraged to keep following along with MickeyBlog for further Walt Disney World news and updates.
We’ll be coming to you LIVE from the theme parks each and every week.
