Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’: Yummy Lunch Review
On my last visit to Orlando, I had lunch at Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ at Disney Springs with my dad. That was one yummy lunch!

I’ve seen him on my favorite cooking shows for years but I’ve never made it to Homecomin’ until now. I am glad I finally made the journey!
Comfort Food You’ll Crave
Homecomin‘ is located in Disney Springs at The Landing.
Enjoy the welcoming vibe at this down-home kitchen and shine bar! From starters to main plates, the eatery’s cuisine is inspired by Florida agriculture and the recipes of Chef Art’s family table.
Homecomin’ lunch
The lunch menu at Homecomin’ is pretty extensive, and I honestly couldn’t choose just one thing to eat. So, I ordered the kitchen sink!
Well, actually I ordered the kitchen plate ($19.00) – a sampling of three different house-made sides. Yum, yum and yummy!
The three sides I chose were: succotash, Bradley’s grits with cheese and the cheddar cheese drop biscuits.
All three sides were fabulous. The succotash was warm and fresh, with a sweetness coming from the corn, tomatoes and red onions.
I’m a sucker for cheesy grits and these grits were probably my favorite item at lunch.
The cheddar cheese drop biscuits were fluffy and savory, and I didn’t need to add butter.
Appetizers
True to form, I couldn’t choose just one appetizer. I couldn’t resist the church lady deviled eggs.
These are billed as HFK-style whole deviled eggs ($13.00). These deviled eggs were ah-may-zing. The yolks must have been put through a whipped cream dispenser – they were aerated and extra smooth.
I also tried the Bee Haven Bay fried green tomatoes ($15.00).
The fried green tomatoes were delicious, served with shaved ham, rémoulade sauce and dressed local greens. If this had been my only appetizer, this would have been perfect. But since we had so much on our table, the shaved ham on top was a little too much for my liking. But the dressed local greens added a freshness that really complimented the tomatoes.
Main course
For the main course, my dad ordered the fried chicken sandwich, and I ordered the fried chicken salad.
The fried chicken sandwich ($19.00) is buttermilk-brined for 24 hours and hand-battered, dressed with hot sauce, aioli, iceberg lettuce, tomato and bread and butter pickles. Served with house-made barbecue chips drizzled with icebox dressing. It was delicious – crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside.
I went for the healthy (!!) option with the friend chicken salad ($19.00). The salad features crispy fried chicken over mixed greens, pecan-smoked bacon, egg, heirloom cherry tomatoes, red onion, and cucumber tossed with icebox dressing, cheddar biscuit croutons, and fresh herbs.
Care for dessert?
I seriously wanted to try the dessert, but both my dad and I were WAY too stuffed to seriously consider ordering dessert. If I had ordered dessert, I would have tried the hummingbird cake ($13.00).

This is Chef Art’s famous pineapple-banana cake with cream cheese frosting, a seasonal fruit gastrique and scoop of vanilla bean ice cream.
I am so glad I went to Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ for lunch with my dad! The food was delicious, the service was impeccable and the atmosphere was very relaxed. We sat outside and it was a gorgeous day.
I’d like to go again and again so I could sample everything on the menu!
