Upper Tank At Seas Pavilion Closed For Second Week
MickeyBlog is hanging out at EPCOT today. We popped by the Seas Pavilion which is home to a giant tank exhibition as well as the popular The Seas With Nemo and Friends attraction. Though it was business as usual for Nemo and Friends, we did notice that the upstairs tank area of the Sea Base exhibit was closed to the public. It was reportedly closed last week as well.
For those unfamiliar, The Seas pavilion is actually home to a 5.7 million gallon Caribbean Coral Reef Aquarium. It has the distinction of being one of the largest man-made ocean environments in the world.
Inside you’ll find over 4,000 creatures from 60 different species including sea turtles, angelfish, dolphins, rays and sharks.
One the upper floor there is a large Observation Deck with a circular window-lined room in the middle of the aquarium that makes you feel as if you are completely surround by marine life.
However, during our visit today, this entire area was curtained off.
The closure was first reported last week and the signage says that they are preparing the exhibit for “new aquatic species.” No word yet on if this is indeed the case or of any additional reasons for the closure. We also don’t know as of yet, how long the tanks will be closed for.
This is a story that we will continue to follow closely here at MickeyBlog and we promise to let you know as soon as we’ve heard more!
