Shanghai Disney Resort To Close Due to Covid
Due to an increase in COVID-19 cases in China, Shanghai Disney announced today that they will be closing Shanghai Disneyland, Disneytown and Wishing Star Park beginning on March 21, 2022.
As of going to print, the Shanghai Disney has yet to announce a possible reopening date. Rather, a statement on their website says that they will monitor the pandemic and consult local authorities and will let guests know when Shanghai Disney is able to resume operations.
For Ticket Refunds & Exchanges
Guests with tickets to visit Shanghai Disneyland that will be impacted by the March 21, 2022 closure can visit the park any other day withing the next six months from the validity date of the ticket after reopening. For example, those with a ticket for March 21, 2022 have until September 21, 2022 to use it.
Tickets can be redeemed at the park entrance turnstiles with your Government Identity Card or Travel Document that was used to purchase your original tickets on the day of your next visit. Remember all guests will still need to register their visitation prior to entering the park.) If you cannot visit the park in the next six months, you can obtain a refund.
For guests that have purchased tickets through the Shanghai Disney website app, WeChat Account or via the Resort Reservation Center, the Resort Fliggy Flagship Store or Jingdong Flagship Store, you can request a refund through the resort’s official app and will be refunded through your original purchase channel within 45 days.
For Other Resort Products and Services
For those that have purchased a Disney Premiere Tour Service, Disney Concierge Service, Early Park Entry Pass or other products and services for March 21, 2022 through the Shanghai Disney Resort Official Website, App, WeChat Account, the Resort Reservation Center, the Resort Official Fliggy Flagship Store or Official Jingdong Flagship Store, you will obtain an automatic refund through the original purchase channel.
If you’ve purchased a dated product and service through other official channels you can contact the original purchase channel for a refund.
Shanghai Disney Resort Hotels
The resorts hotels at Shanghai Disney Resort will continue normal operations but guests are ablet o change your plans. For guests who have booked resort hotels for March 21 or onwards you can contact the original purchase channel for enquiries and refunds.
Shanghai Disney Annual Passholders
The validity period of Shanghai Disneyland Annual Passes will be extended for 10 days.
