Disney World Searching for Stage Technicians
The Magic is definitely calling hundreds of thousands of guests to Walt Disney World Resort this year. Now, the parks continue to search for new cast members to help deliver that magic everyday. Specifically, the resort posted a job earlier this week for one very important position: Entertainment Stage Technician.
“The Entertainment Stage Technician will have the experience of watching Guests react as they are transported by live shows, parades, and spectaculars across The Walt Disney World Resort. As an Entertainment Stage Technician, you will install and operate the lighting, pyrotechnics, props, audio, video, automation and rigging for dozens of live shows taking place across our Parks and Resorts on a daily basis,” the Disney Careers post states.
Those with a background in entertainment leadership as well as experience with the computer, networking and automation skills required by the role should take note of this opening. Other preferred qualificiations include experience with lightning console programming and repair, front of house and monitor mixing with live bands, experience with Q-Sys and Dante as well as puppets and props.
The role also seeks qualified applicants with experience in riggings and pyrotechnics and special effects, including snow machines, bubble machines, and foggers. Those with past work in warehouse inventory as well as projection mapping, live event broadcast experience and media server work should also apply.
With so many entertainment experiences offered throughout Walt Disney World Resort, one can only imagine the projects that these individuals might take part in planning and executing on a daily basis. The pay rate for this position begins at $18.00 per hour. For more information on this and so many other available roles at the Walt Disney Company, visit Disney Careers.
