Disney Releases First Production Image for Live-Action Pinocchio
If you’ve been following along with MickeyBlog you’ll know that Disney is currently working on a live-action version of Pinocchio with Tom Hanks cast in the role as Geppetto. Disney has remained pretty tight-lipped about the production but they did take to social media today to share a first look at film via a production still.

As you can see from the post above, Disney also revealed that the project will be making its Disney+ debut in September of 2022.
In addition to Tom Hanks, we also know that Cynthia Erivo will play the role of the Blue Fairy and reportedly Joseph Gordon-Levitt will be Jiminy Cricket. We also know that Robert Zemeckis’ is helming the film.
Other casting includes Luke Evans as The Coachman, Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as the voice of Pinocchio, Keegan Michael-Key as Honest John and Lorraine Bracco will also be playing a new character in the film- Sofia the Seagull.
