Must-Try Treats at This Year’s Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival
If you’ve been following along with us here at MickeyBlog, you’ll know that the Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Fest officially kicked off yesterday and will run through April 26, 2022. This year’s fest boasts over a dozen Festival Marketplaces serving up irresistible small plates and beverages inspired by home-grown ingredients from the state of California!
There are so many delectable treats to choose from that we thought we’d share a few of our favorites with you!
Drinks Inspired by the Golden State
- Mezcaleros ancho sandia margaritaj- LA Style : This cocktail draws its inspiration from the Mexican heritage of many California residents. It features watermelon which is commonly grown in both California and Mexico (LA Style).
- Sake-melon ’75- LA Style: The use of cantaloupe pays tribute to California’s Japanese American community as this fruit is commonly grown in both places!
- Blackberry-lavender lemonade (nonalcoholic)- Cluck-A-Doodle Moo: This drink celebrates the Sierra Nevada Mountains where wild berries (including blackberries) can be found growing throughout the forests. Lavender also represents the many wildflowers you’ll see growing there.
- Orange-honey cold brew (nonalcoholic)- Golden Dreams: Nothing says California-grown ingredients quite like citrus! Disneyland Resort was actually build upon orange groves!
Debuting in 2022
Be on the lookout for more than 15 new dishes just waiting to be discovered including:
- Chile relleno empanada- Peppers Cali-Ente- Comes served with with arbol pepper salsa and Oaxaca and Cotija cheeses
- IPA sausage dog – California Craft Brews- This sausage dog is served up on a soft-pretzel role with onion-pepper Jardiniere, Cheddar Cheese sauce and Malt Vinegar-Jalapeno Crunch
- Mango-carrot gazpacho- Golden Dreams- This cold soup is served up with with grilled shrimp and jalapeño crema
- Strawberry cheesecake with lemon Chantilly- Berry Patch
Treats that Kids Are Sure to Love
Visiting Food & Wine Fest with little ones? Here are some treats that are sure to make them smile!
- Cubano slider- D-Lish: This mustard-crusted pork is slow roasted and the slider also comes with sliced smoked ham, melted Swiss cheese and a slice of pickle. It is served on a Hawaiian roll.
- Peanut butter and jelly mac- Nuts about Cheese – This sweet take on Mac and Cheese is served up with brown sugar streusel and strawberry crackle.
- Frozen Guacamole – Avocado Time: An ice cold avocado paleta with lime crema, pico de gallo and chili-lime seasoning.
- Chocolate hazelnut crunch- Uncork California: A chocolate hazelnut mousse (think Nutella) topped with chocolate-hazelnut glaze and gold leaf.
Returning Favorites
This year, a whole range of your fan favorites have returned. This includes:
- French onion grilled beef tenderloin slider- Cluck-A-Doodle Moo: grilled beef tenderloin topped with a Gruyère cheese sauce and caramelized onions, served on an onion roll
- Petite avocado Impossible™ burger- Avocado Time – with dairy-free pepper jack; plant-based
- Carbonara-garlic mac and cheese – Garlic Kissed: with peppered bacon
- SNICKERS caramel-peanut milk chocolate Mickey macaron- Nuts About Cheese: chocolate Mickey macaron filled with caramel ganache and SNICKERS pieces
