Top 3 Ways to Celebrate Mardi Gras 2022 at WDW!
It’s time to Laissez Les Bons Temps Rouler at Walt Disney World! The good times are always rolling here at WDW, but the energy and party atmosphere that Mardi Gras provides can’t be ignored- especially this year when ALL of our favorite Mardi Gras-inspired activities are back open.
We’ve compiled the top 3 ways to get in the Mardi Gras spirit at Walt Disney World, so let’s get into it…
3- Celebrate Jazz Music
American Jazz was born in our southernmost states. NOLA has birthed countless jazz artists, boasts some of our country’s most historical jazz clubs, and is one of the few cities that Jazz music can constantly be heard each and every night of the week.
The Scat Cat Club, and adjacent Scat Cat Club Cafe are WDW’s two jazziest haunts! At the Scat Cat Club, adults are invited to pair live Jazz music with specialty NOLA-inspired cocktails you can’t find anywhere else on Property! If you want to bring your kiddos along, consider stopping by Scat Cat Club Cafe where they’re churning out some hot jazz riffs!
2- Eat Beignets
Hot jazz riffs aren’t the only hot commodity the Scat Cat Club churns out! This is also the place to snag Port Orleans French Quarter’s famous made-to-order beignets!
They offer fancy beignets that are injected with different filings and coated in different sugars (they even feature adults-only beignets with Kahlua and Bailey’s!), but the classic beignets are the way to go on Mardi Gras! Made fresh to order and generously dusted with powdered sugar, these piping hot pastries are a great way to get into the Mardi Gras spirit!
1- Sail the Sassagoula River
Both NOLA itself and its massive Mardi Gras festival draw inspiration from the city’s famed waterfront location. Mardi Gras floats often feature the bayou gators and other species that inhabit the city’s banks. Here at Walt Disney World, you can board a boat at Disney Springs that sails along the Sassagoula River and takes you to both Port Orleans Resorts…completely free of charge!
The boat route is open to ALL guests and offers unique vistas of the Disney golf courses and Treehouse Villas you can’t see from any other location.
The Sassagoula River was created with the southern waterways in mind, and the leisurely journey will culminate with a stop at Port Orleans French Quarter where you’ll feel like you’ve stepped out of Central Florida and right into the heart of Mardi Gras!
