Some of Your Biggest Galactic Starcruiser Questions Answered!
Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser voyages begin March 1, 2022, and given that it’s a first-of-its-kind experience, we understand if you have a lot of questions. This week, we cruised aboard the famed ship—and now we’re here to answer your burning questions.

1. Is Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser a hotel?
The Galactic Starcruiser is not a hotel, at least not as you’ve known it. This is an entirely new Star Wars-focused vacation experience. When you book a stay on the Halcyon, you are booking a 2-night immersive adventure where the choice you make on the ship impact an epic Star Wars story. There’s also a whole host of incredible themed activities, out-of-this-world accommodation and so much more.
As part of your package you’ll also visit Black Spire Outpost on Batuu which is part of Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios!

2. How does the role-playing aspect of the experience work?
Quite simply, its the cornerstone of everything you’ll see and do over two magnificent nights aboard the Halcyon. You’ll meet new and familiar Star Wars characters and interact with them in ways unlike anything you’ve every imagined. Through in-person conversations and private messages on your Datapad, you’ll join these interesting characters on daring missions with one incredible adventure unfolding after another.
Alex Lee, Production Manager, Disney Live Entertainment, says. “We’ve created characters to help guide and inform how to play. This is very specific to [new character] Sandro Alimander, who’s there as a guest; he’s there as a window, so you can see how he interacts with the performers, how he’s interacting with you, and what the rules of engagement are that play through Sandro. Hopefully by seeing a unique character trying to participate and be part of this story, that inspires you as a guest to continue to play.”

3. Can I dress up in costume during my voyage?
Absolutely. You are encouraged to dress the part during your stay on the Galactic Starcruiser. You are a character in the story after all! There’s even a chance to show off your wardrobe during the Outer Rim Regalia event. You’ll also find exclusive apparel in advance on shopDisney.com or onboard the ship at The Chandrila Collection.
Only brought close from your home planet? That’s okay too!

4. Will I encounter Star Wars characters during my adventures?
Boy, will you ever! You’ll see some familiar faces, make new friends and interact with those on the ship in ways you’ve only dreamed of! You might help a Wookiee stowaway or feed intel to the First Order. The choices you make are entirely your own and WILL have an impact on how your adventure unfolds.
Be on the lookout for new characters including Captain Riyola Keevan, Cruise Director Lenka Mok, Gaya, Ouannii, Sandro Alimander and Sammie the mechanic. It also wouldn’t be a Star Wars experience with out droids. You’ll meet SK-62O and D3-09! You’ll also come face to face with the formidable First Order Stormtroopers under the command of Lt. Croy as well as Rey, and Kylo Ren.

5. How do I use the Star Wars: Datapad?
If there’s one piece of advice I would give those heading out on a Galactic Starcruiser adventure, it’s to make sure that you have the Play Disney Park app installed on your smartphone. Once onboard the Halcyon, it will become your Star Wars: Datapad and will enhance your experience. This essential tool will provide a personalized itinerary of activities and will allow you to communicate with crew and characters on the ship.
The Datapad is a great way to dip your toe into the amazing world of roleplaying. . “I’m an introvert, so going up and talking to a person I’ve never met before is a little intimidating,” Anisha Deshmane, Creative Producer, Walt Disney Imagineering, says. “But having a person reach out to me and say, ‘We haven’t met yet, but I have this information I need to tell somebody about,’ gives me an invitation to play in a way I might not have accepted in-person. We’ve layered all of these different invitations for guests. Some people are going to have a great time hanging out in the Sublight Lounge, and a character is going to wander in and strike up a conversation with them. That’s an invitation to get involved in the story. Some of our some of our passengers are going to sit back and take a look at their Datapad and wait for messages to arrive. It’s another way to get invited into the story.”
