Sun Runs Story on Guest Getting Turned Away at Disney for Not Making Park Pass Reservations
Since Disney World and Disneyland reopened their gates after their lengthy pandemic closures a new Park Pass Reservation System was put into place. To monitor attendance/capacity, guests, in addition to having theme park tickets, are also required to make park pass reservations. Those with one and not the other will unfortunately be denied admission to the theme parks.
In addition, like dining reservations at exclusive Disney eateries park passes can book up well in advance. This means that guests must plan ahead to ensure that you get your park pass reservations while there’s still space. It is this system, or should I say, one UK guest being unaware of the system, that is the subject of a new piece in the Sun UK.
The Sun saw a post by Rob Maden, who took to a Facebook group for those planning a Disney World vacation to share his frustration of not being able to visit the theme parks for two days during his vacation.
Rob wrote in his post, “Book your Disney park reservations as soon as you can if you are set on certain days for certain parks especially if you have a dining reservation.” He continued, “We have been a week and had no problems with park availability until yesterday when there was NO availability for any park!”
There are two very important things to make note of in Rob’s comment. This first is that even guests with a valid dining reservation for a theme park cannot enter unless they have BOTH a valid theme park admission ticket and a valid park pass reservation.
In addition, park passes are available to book well in advance. This means that those planning a Walt Disney World getaway should make your park pass reservations as soon as you book your Disney getaway.
Planning a last minute trip? Disney offers theme park pass availability calendars that will let you know if park passes are still available so that you can adjust your dates if you won’t be able to reserve park passes for the theme park you want on the days you want!
Anyone can check park pass availability at any time here:
It would appear that Maden did not know about park pass reservations ahead of time and waited until he arrived at Disney World to make his reservations. By that point it was too late with the more popular parks like Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios completely booked up during his stay.
These days, a Disney trip involves resort reservations, park pass reservations, dining reservations, My Disney Experience app registration, Disney Genie+ reservations and more! It’s not surprising that guests will miss out on an important component for their visit despite Disney’s best attempts cover all your bases.
In Maden’s case he said, “it stopped us going to any Disney park for the last two days of our Disney stay.”
