Record High Temperatures Arrive in Orlando Today
After one of the most profound cold snaps in history last month, Orlando stands ready to break more weather records today. Good news though! Today’s records focus on high temperatures with abundant sunshine and highs in the mid-80s.
Coastal cities may drift a bit off of records set in recent years, but central Florida might get within a degree or two. The record for high tempture today, February 18, was set at 87 degrees Fahrenheit in 1975. Forecasts today put Orlando hovering around 86 with sun.

Still, the balmy weather will not last long for the Orlando area though this weekend. Cold weather returns to the area beginning tomorrow.

For those gearing up for President’s Day week, the Daytona 500, and the Disney Princess Half Marathon weekend, prepare for some Florida heat. Forecasts for the bulk of next week predict a heat wave that could send temperatures soaring into the 90s in the afternoons.

Though the area needs rain to ward off a drought that set in over the last few weeks, the week also looks quite dry for guests enjoying all that central Florida offers with this exciting week.
As expected, the dry weather is starting to take its toll across Central Florida.
The updated Drought Monitor now has western areas as Abnormally Dry.

With Walt Disney World Resort preparing for the debut of the EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival on March 2nd, the warm weather couldn’t come at a better time for the resort.
