Mask-Optional Policy Returns to Disneyland Thursday
Earlier today, Disney Parks made the long-awaited announcement that masks will again be optional in most indoor locations beginning Thursday, February 17th for fully-vaccinated guests. For Disneyland Resort, masks remain required indoors for unvaccinated guests as well as for all guests at certain indoor locations and enclosed transportation, including buses and monorails.
Per a release today from Disney Parks and the current update on the Disneyland “Know Before you Go” page, “face coverings will be optional for fully vaccinated Guests in both outdoor and indoor locations. Guests who are not fully vaccinated are expected to continue wearing face coverings in all indoor locations, including indoor attractions and theaters. Face coverings are still required by all Guests (ages 2 and up) on enclosed Disney transportation, including Disney buses, monorails, and Disney Skyliner.”
Limitations still remain on the definition of a face covering at the Anaheim-based theme park, so guests will want to review those details prior their visit, especially if enclosed transportation will be used.
To many, this policy change seemed inevitable with the vast majority of surrounding theme parks changing their mask requirements earlier this week.

Further Disneyland Celebrations
It’s a big week at Disneyland Resort with three members of the Los Angeles Rams, this Sunday’s Super Bowl Champions, visiting yesterday for a celebratory parade and visit to both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure Park.
