“I can’t keep the secret any long! I’m beyond excited to be joining the cast of the Beauty and the Beast prequel series! As a child, I remember watching Beauty and the Beast with my family over and over and immediately falling in love with the music and characters,” Ora said in a Tweet earlier today.

A Mysterious Tale as Old as Time
Jelani Alladin, Fra Fee, and Brianna Middleton also star in the new show, which will showcase an original story set years prior to the original narrative. According to previous releases, the Disney+ series will follow the troublesome pair of friends, LeFou and Gaston, on adventures with LeFou’s stepsister, Tilly.

“For anyone who’s ever wondered how a brute like Gaston and a goof like LeFou could have ever become friends and partners, or how a mystical enchantress came to cast that fateful spell on the prince-turned-beast, this series will finally provide those answers … and provoke a whole new set of questions,” said former Disney Branded Television President and Chief Creative Officer Gary Marsh months ago when the series was announced. Since then, Marsh departed from Disney Branded Television after 33 years with the group.
Josh Gad also takes on an executive producer role for the show alongside Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis. Luke Evans, Liesl Tommy, and the legendary Alan Menken also serve as executive producers for the much-anticipated series. Packed with adventure, romance and mystery, we cannot wait to hear more as this series begins production later this spring.
