Celebrate Lunar New Year With The Disney Parks Around The World
The Chinese Lunar New Year is in full swing happening until February 16, 2022. To celebrate, the Disney Parks around the world present a series of magical Chinese New Year experiences with gorgeous eye-catching festive decorations, amazing New Year’s activities, a dazzling array of New Year merchandise, delicious food and beverages, as well as special themed activities and entertainment performances for the Spring Festival. Let’s take a look!
Every morning of the Chinese New Year, Tigger will join Mickey and Minnie to co-host the “Mickey Avenue Drum Ceremony”, injecting joy and blessings into every day of the Chinese New Year with surging drums. In addition, from February 2 to the 16th, Disney will present a wonderful and extraordinary lion dance performance. Finally, as the day draws to a close, “ILLUMINATE! A Nighttime Celebration” lights up the sky, followed by the limited time show “Our Families.”
In Shanghai Disneyland, there are all kinds of Chinese New Year delicacies, special drinks and delicious desserts. Guests can satisfy their sweet tooth with the amazing New Year’s raspberry jelly white chocolate mousse cake and Donald Duck vanilla ice cream cone.
Guests visiting Hong Kong Disneyland Resort during the Lunar New Year celebration happening through February 20th will find adorable Tigger merchandise. What better way to ring in the year of the tiger!

Then back in the states, Disney California Adventure park at the Disneyland Resort is also celebrating the season through February 13th with festivities commemorating Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese cultures.
Make sure you head over to the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail where you’ll find the debut of none other than Raya herself, straight from Walt Disney Animation Studios’ film, “Raya and the Last Dragon”. The Redwood Creek Challenge Trail in a perfect setting inspired by her native home Kumandra.
Disney fan favorites Mulan and Mushu are hosting the return of “Mulan’s Lunar New Year Procession”. This performance will honor the new year’s blessings of family and friendship with dozens of spirited performers.
And come hungry! You’ll taste your way through the park with returning favorites such as beef bulgogi short rib on gluten-free rice with green onion salad and NEW bites like the brown sugar steam bun. Yum!
