Galactic Starcruiser Officially Added to Disney World Resort Bus Ranks
Our MickeyBlogger is on the scene at Walt Disney World today and discovered something that is out-of-this-world. New signage is up in preparation of guests being able to take a Walt Disney World resort bust to a galaxy far, far away.
Over at Disney Springs this morning we noticed a very interesting addition to the resort bus directory for the bus ranks.
If you look under Saratoga Springs Resort on the right hand side of the sign you’ll know see that Star War Galactic Starcruiser Resort has been added to the guide.
For those unfamiliar, Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser is Disney World’s new Star Wars-themed resort experience that is slated to open in just a little over a month (March 1, 2021.)
A stay on the Starcruiser is packaged and priced similar to a cruise where guests stay on board for a two-day all-inclusive experience that includes room, board, interactive entertainment and more.
The Starcruiser was recently the subject of criticism from Star Wars and Disney fans alike after a rather lackluster marketing campaign leaving many skeptical about the Starcruiser’s promise to deliver an authentic Star Wars experience.
However, Disney is advocating that there are a lot of surprises in store regarding the property. Regardless, it remains to be seen whether this is enough to sway public opinion.
Our MickeyBlogger went over to platform 18 at Disney Springs which will be the designated pick-up area for those passengers heading to the Starcruiser. As you can see, signage is posted there as well.
Because of the exclusivity of the Starcruiser experience, guests without a valid resort reservation will NOT be allowed on property. With this in mind, the signs at the bus rank clearly say “Guests Only.”
With so much of the Starcruiser experience planned out for guests, we suspect that the Disney Springs bus rank will only be used by guests on their way to check into the resort as most of the two-days worth of activities are already pre-planned and don’t really leave room for leaving the Starcruiser unless it is to go to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
With that in mind, we suspect that you won’t be seeing Starcruiser bus ranks at any of the other theme parks like Magic Kingdom, EPCOT or Hollywood Studios.
