Kevin From UP! Returns to Animal Kingdom
We heard a rumor that a very popular Walt Disney World meet and greet had returned to Animal Kingdom this week and we can now confirm that its true! The illustrious bird Kevin from Pixar’s Up was officially spotted at the theme park this afternoon.
Our MickeyBlogger was there to capture this rare species in action.
Kevin was looking particularly happy to be mingling with the crowd!
It should be noted that character encounters are socially distanced at the moment.
Though we weren’t able to give Kevin a big hug, he does stand close enough for you to grab a selfie.
And with those beautiful mutlicolored plumes we think Kevin is rather photogenic.
It looks like Kevin is missing his good friend Russell.
But we’ve got a feeling the Russell and his canine companion Dug aren’t to far away.
At the moment, Kevin’s meet and greet is not on the schedule at disneyworld.com.
So, you’ll have to be on the lookout for him when you’re at Animal Kingdom.
It’s well worth it! Kevin looks completely at home among the beautiful Animal Kingdom foliage.
You’ll definitely want to have your came
For those curious as to where you’ll find our feathered friend, Kevin comes out on Discovery Island near Isle of Java.
We are so happy to see more and more familiar Disney characters returning to the parks.
As we’ve previously announced Mickey, Disney Princesses, Olaf and more are now back at the theme parks and we expect more to follow in the weeks ahead.
Be sure to show your support for these character experiences so that Disney continues to see that they’re a fan favorite!
Kevin was very animated during our visit as you can see!
She’s open her beak, squawk to the crowd and enjoyed interacting with the guests!
We forgot how tall she was!
Below you can see Kevin trying hard not to hit its head on the low-lying branches!
There are no PhotoPass photographers at this meet and greet so it is up to you to take those fabulous photos.
Kevin does come out with a handler but the stand in the distance and aren’t able to take photos due to social distancing restrictions.
Below is a closer look at the are where Kevin comes out to greet guests. The signage is pretty minimal as you can see and easy to overlook.
You can check out a wee video below of Kevin in action!
