We Have an Opening Date for Salt & Straw in Disney Springs!
We found out last summer that famed ice cream shoppe Salt & Straw is coming to Disney Springs. Now we have an opening date!
In an email to ClickOrlando.com, Chief Market Officer Alison Hiatt writes,
We are THRILLED to say we plan to open in March — exact timeline still pending construction — but that is our current plan.”
Salt & Straw’s newest location is located near Splitsville Luxury Lanes and AMC Theaters on Disney Springs’ West Side. We’ve been watching those construction walls for months!
If you aren’t familiar with Salt & Straw, the sweet shop has a cult following the likes of which you’d be hard pressed to find in any other ice cream chain. With handmade ice cream, obscure flavors and a focus on community, cousin creators Kim and Tyler Malek have kept the brand’s focus on “bringing people together over a scoop”. They pride themselves on the use of fresh ingredients from farmers and artisans who have a story to tell. The company’s mission:
Using ice cream as a platform, we pioneer and share experiences that inspire and connect us all.”
This will be the 26th location for what began as a food cart in Portland, Oregon. But it won’t be the first Disney location. Salt & Straw is a beloved fixture in the Downtown Disney district at Disneyland in Anaheim, California.
