Splash Mountain Goes Down for a Month Long Refurbishment
Splash Mountain has closed today for a month-long refurbishment.
The scheduled closure takes place from January 10, 2022, through February 10, 2022. This closure has nothing to do with the upcoming refurbishment due to The Princess and the Frog retheming.
There are walls up all around the attraction with signs stating the ride is closed.
We spotted some workers up on scaffolding working on the side of the mountain. Perhaps repainting or freshening up the color.
We also saw what looks to be a pump draining the water out of the briar patch area.
A stack of cinder blocks were placed in the briar patch area as well.
Splash Mountain is a fun boat ride that floats through a colorful Southern bayou along with happy-go-lucky Br’er Rabbit as he looks for his “laughing place”. This attraction includes 950,000 gallons of water, 3 dips and a 5-story drop. Where you’re seated will determine how wet you’ll get. Riders in the back may experience a sudden splash or spray; those who opt for the front can expect to get soaked.
