Shanghai Disney Redies Lunar New Year Celebration
Earlier today, Shanghai Disney Resort offered a very Tigger-ific prelude to their Lunar New Year festivities that kick (or should we say bounce) off on Friday. As the Year of the Tiger begins, the classic “Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh” character seemed like the perfect Dsisney pal to join Mickey and Minnie in today’s announcements.
Officially celebrated on February 1st, Lunar New Year festivities begin with the first new moon of the lunisolar calendar. Traditionally, the celebration lasts sixteen days ranging from Chinese New Year’s Eve on January 31st and continuing through February 15th. This year, Shanghai Disneyland Resorts abudance of events continue through February 16th, giving guests plenty of days to enjoy all of the unique offerings.

A Special Birthday for Shanghai Disney Resort
On top of the Lunar New Year, Shanghai Disneyland Resort also marks its 5th birthday this year. In honor of the occasion, Shanghai Disneyland recently debuted a new nighttime spectacular, “ILLUMINATE! A Nighttime Celebration.”
An enormous birthday cake also now kicks off the park’s parade. The “Disney Surprise Cake Float” leads the way for Mickey’s Storybook Express.
The spell-binding new theatrical show, “Mickey’s Storybook Adventure” adds even more to the exceptional entertainment offerings at the resort. During the show, Mickey and Goofy discover a magical book in the library that transends them into the worlds of 23 time-honored Disney characters.
