The First Drury Hotel Will Open at Walt Disney World This Year

In addition to all the Walt Disney World-owned Resort Hotels, pretty much every other Hotel chain is represented in the area around Walt Disney World. However, there has been one exception – Drury Hotels. That is about to change though as Dury just announced the opening of their Drury Plaza Hotel Orlando Lake Buena Vista later this year.

The Orlando Business Journal is reporting that the first phase of the Drury Plaza Hotel Orlando Lake Buena Vista will officially start welcoming Guests on October 27, 2022 with a total of 264 rooms. Once the second phase of the Hotel opens, it will boast a total of 604 rooms as well as 17,000 of meeting space. The second phase of the Hotel is scheduled to open by Spring 2023.

The new Drury Plaza Hotel Orlando Lake Buena Vista will be located were the former Best Western Lake Buena Vista was located.

Drury purchased the property back in 2018 with plans to add a new tower along with meeting and entertainment space.

Once open, Guests of this new Hotel will be invited to enjoy the following amenities:

• A resort-style pool that includes a splash pad and poolside dining
• A restaurant entitled Kitchen + Bar
• 24-hour business and fitness centers

While the new Drury Plaza Hotel Orlando Lake Buena Vista might be the first Drury Hotel in the Walt Disney World Resort Area, it is not the first Drury Hotel in Orlando. Currently, there is a Drury Inn & Suites near the Universal Orlando Resort.

The new Drury Plaza Hotel Orlando Lake Buena Vista is just one of several new “off property” hotels coming to the Walt Disney World area. Several new hotels have already opened or will soon open in the area’s FLAMINGO CROSSINGS area as well as the new Swan Reserve by Marriott in the EPCOT Resort Area.
