Expedition Everest Closes Tomorrow for Lengthy Refurbishment
If you’re planning on visiting Walt Disney World in early 2022 than you’ll want to be aware of the following closure. As we previously announced here at MickeyBlog, Expedition Everest at Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park will be closed for refurbishment starting tomorrow January 3, 2022.
As of going to print Disney has not announced an official reason for the closure. However, it should be noted that the refurbishment is expected to be lengthy.
As you can see from the screenshot above taken from disneyworld.com, starting tomorrow Expedition Everest is officially listed as the “Closed for Refurbishment.”
The same message appears throughout January and February.
The last day we see Expedition Everest listed as closed is March 15, 2022. As of going to print it is unclear whether the project is expected to be completed by this date or whether Disney World simply hasn’t updated the refurbishment schedule for this attraction beyond this date.
However, this is a story that we will continue to follow closely and we promise to keep you updated as soon as we know more!

In the meantime, guests planning on visiting in January, February and the first half of March should scratch this attraction off your touring plans!
