ICYMI: World Showcase Comes To Life With Vibrant New Year’s Eve Dance Parties
If you were following along with us here at MickeyBlog yesterday, you no doubt would have seen our footage of EPCOT setting up stages in several of the World Showcase countries for special holiday events taking place for New Year’s Eve!
Yesterday evening, we got to go back and actually take part in the awesome parties that Disney planned and all we can say is WOW!
Here are some photos and videos taken from our stop at the China Pavilion.
As you can see from the videos, a huge lighting grid was erected with a fiery dragon presiding over the holiday festivities.
The combination of lasers, fog machines and music made for a pretty spectacular evening.
As you can see, a nice crowd was assembled throughout the night and most brought their dancing shoes.
The ambiance here rivals some of the clubs we’ve been to back in the heyday!
Next we switch countries and head over to Italy for a celebration that is simply stupefacente!
This plaza made the perfect setting for a European-style soiree that pulled out all of the New Year’s Eve stops!
As you can see from the video above, a huge circular lighting grid was set up in the central courtyard.
The music definitely got the crowd moving!
The colorful lasers, fog and lightning definitely put us in the celebratory mood.
The night sky in the World Showcase was lit up in amazing hues of yellow, blue and green.
The DJ here was also amazing.
Italy definitely had one of the larger crowds of the evening and we had such a fantastic time hanging out there.
But there’s more things to see, so it’s over to the American Adventure.
As you can see, the balconies and promenade here took center stage with stunning magenta lighting.
The DJ kept the crowd dancing.
This was a huge space so there was lots of room for guests to spread out and have a good time!
We captured some footage of the incredible DJ.
And some equally as awesome guests getting in the holiday spirit!
Then it’s over to the UK pavilion for our favorite stop of the night due to the originality alone!
As these headphones may indicate, the UK Pavilion was doing a silent disco.
This wasn’t our first silent disco but these are always fun events.
There’s something so delightful when it comes to watch guests dance along but you can’t hear the music.
Because headphones were required for the experience, the UK Pavilion did have a queue.
But, it didn’t take us long to grab are headsets and join in the fun!
Our MickeyBloggers Greg and Elyssa had an awesome time dancing away here!
Held in the back garden, the entire area was adorned with stunning lights and a DJ was spinning tunes (quietly) from the gazebo.
We loved this offering so much and definitely hope that Disney brings it back in years to come.
As you can see there was a massive crowd assembled in the central square.
Word quickly got out that this was THE New Year’s Eve event to be at!
Columns of lights throughout the park really helped set the mood!
Below you can see Greg and Elyssa taking a break from all of the dancing!
As well as the crowd with their headsets.
Even the headsets themselves were illuminated with a multitude of colors. Here’s a closer look.
We also stuck around for the New Year’s Eve countdown over the World Showcase Lagoon and you can check out our footage here.
