PHOTOS: Christmas Crowds at Disney Springs
Combine excited tourists taking a day off from the Parks with locals who are blocked out of the Parks for the Holidays, and you will have yourself one very busy Disney Springs.
That’s the exact combination that filled Lime Garage to capacity before 12 noon, and the same combo that packed the walkways…but how was the overall experience? Today, we strolled around the entirety of Disney Springs to check on crowd levels throughout.
The walkways everywhere felt pretty congested with folks bustling to and from dining reservations, grabbing snacks from kiosks, and enjoying outdoor entertainment.
Although the walkways felt pretty crowded, the lines for quick-serve kiosks, food trucks, and outdoor pop-up bars were very low. Even Ghirardelli boasted a short line during that prime mid-afternoon snack time!
No matter where we walked today, it was rare to find a reprieve in outdoor crowds, but shockingly the shopping experience inside World of Disney was not nearly as crowded.
World of Disney
World of Disney is massive, and does a great job of dispersing crowds ever since the recent remodel. Although plenty of guests were shopping in each and every corner of the store, guests were able to easily move through the racks and walkways to get to their desired locations.
While walkways were certainly packed and Lime Garage has been at capacity for hours, Disney Springs wasn’t unmanageable on Christmas Day…BUT….
Christmas Night
The same can’t be guaranteed for the evening and late-night at Disney Springs tonight…
When I was headed home just about an hour ago, a very long, very steady line of cars were still arriving at an already busy Disney Springs, likely for dinner reservations. It’s unlikely that tonight (a holiday night that just so happens to also fall on a Saturday) will be as manageable as it was during the day today at Disney Springs…
