That’s where we come in! We’ve assembled ten of our favorite flicks currently available to stream on Disney+ to keep you entertained into the wee hours of the evening.
So fill up those glasses with eggnog and let’s get stuck in!
The Santa Clause
Tim Allen plays Scott, a divorced dad, who discovers that he is turning into Santa. Prepare to laugh-out-loud at the hilarious comedy moments in this film! Oh, and if you’re looking for a movie marathon The Santa Clause 2 and The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause are also available to stream.
Noelle
This sweet film starring the hilarious Bill Hader and Anna Kendrick has quickly become on of my holiday favorites. These two play brother-sister duo Nick and Noella Kringle. As the time comes for Nick to take over the role of Santa Claus from his father he’s hardly excited. His sister Noelle however things she’s up to the challenge. Can she convince her family in the North Pole to buck tradition and put her at the head of the sleigh.
Babes in Toyland (1961)
Overdose on nostalgia with this wacky technicolor musical was Walt Disney’s first foray into the world of live-action musicals. Babes in Toyland features Anette Funicello and Tommy Sands as Mary Contrary and Tom Piper who are set to be married until the evil Barnaby captures Mary. What follows is an all-singing, all-dancing musical celebration with candy-colored sets and marching toy soldiers!
Pluto’s Christmas Tree
There’s nothing like a Disney Christmas classic and this is always one of the first on my list. This 1952 cartoon short follows Pluto and Mickey Mouse who are off to get a Christmas tree. As Mickey and his trusted canine companion bring the perfect tree home they’re unaware that Chip and Dale have stowed away in Mickey and Pluto’s tree. Enchanted by the gorgeous twinkling lights and colorful ornaments the two chipmunks quickly cause trouble for Mickey and Pluto before ultimately reminding them to embrace the friendly spirit of Christmas.
Home Alone
It simply wouldn’t be Christmas without at least one viewing of this story of 8-year-old Kevin McCallister. You’re sure to laugh along with his entertaining hijinks and memorable quotes. Also available to stream is Home Alone 2: Lost in New York and Home Alone 3.
Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas
Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas puts the scream in “Season’s Screamings” as Jack Skellington – the Pumpkin King- discovers a wonderous place called Christmas Town!
The Muppet Christmas Carol
The Muppet Christmas Carol features grumpy ol’Scrooge with a Muppetational twist. Explore the true meaning of the holiday with the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future. In true Muppet fashion there’s always hilarious moments and cheerful musical numbers.
Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmas
Here’s another Mickey holiday cartoon classic. The gang is all together with these three stories featuring Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Max, Donald and more. Watch as the gang reminisce on their wonderful memories of Christmases past in this delightful movie. If one Christmas special isn’t enough there’s also Mickey’s Twice Upon a Christmas.
The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe
The Pevensies siblings stumble into a magical world beyond their imagination called Narnia. Through exploring this wondrous new world, the children realize that everything may not be quite as incredible as it seems. This classic epic adventure really evokes the spirit of the holidays and even features an appearance by Father Christmas!
I’ll Be Home for Christmas
You can count on this Christmas film to put you in the holiday mood. Self-absorbed Jake Wilkinson (Jonathan Taylor Thomas) is given an ultimatum, return to New York to spend the holidays with his estranged father or give up the opportunity to get his dad’s vintage Porsche. What starts out as a simple journey turns into a cross-country film with surprises around every corner.
