Top 5 Resort Christmas Decorations of 2021
We are only 36 hours away from Christmas MickeyBloggers! Halls have been decked, cookies have been baked, and we’re making our final rounds visiting the decorated Disney Resort lobbies before the season’s end.
This year, we’ve seen the Resorts come alive once again in their Christmas splendor, and drinking in the glittering lights in our favorite place in the world has been nothing short of magical! If you’re visiting for the big day or are celebrating from your own home, check out the lobbies that scored the highest in our ranking this year!
5- Disney’s Boardwalk Inn
I love the Boardwalk’s quintessential vintage vibe. From the richly stained wood in the lobby’s floors to the classic 1920’s shore-inspired touches, this lobby is one of our favorites to visit during the Christmas season. In fact, we love to grab a seasonal treat and cup of coffee from Boardwalk Bakery and take our treat to the lobby to enjoy by the light of the Christmas trees!
Boardwalk also scores some bonus points for their outdoor decorations too. Head to the back of the hotel where you’ll find a sprawling lawn overlooking Crescent Lake and you just might discover another (very big) tree perfect for family photo ops!
4- Beach Club
The (working!) Gingerbread Carousel here is what earns the Beach Club a spot on our list. This year, the carousel took on a “Little Mermaid” theme- the perfect movie to help bring Christmas to the ocean-themed Resort!
I also give Beach Club points for their in-lobby Christmas market! That’s right, you can scoop everything from cake pops to stollen bread to chocolate crinkle cookies in this limited time marketplace that’s located just across the lobby from the carousel.
3- Animal Kingdom Lodge
It’s always amazing to step into the Animal Kingdom Lodge lobby any time of the year. The stunning architecture is the first jaw-dropping moment, but as you step further into the space, you feel immediately surrounded by culture.

During Christmas, that African culture is further celebrated on their ENORMOUS Christmas tree! This lobby truly comes to life amidst the glow of their multicultural tree. Plus, there’s nothing like seeing a phenomenal Christmas tree and some giraffes roaming about all within the same minute- both real and edible! This year, pastry chefs added a life-size baby giraffe gingerbread to the complete decorations!
2- Wilderness Lodge
Inspired by the Pacific Northwest’s mountainous landscape and woody architecture, Wilderness Lodge screams ‘WINTER’ 365 days/year. Add in a multi-story Christmas tree, and you’ve got yourself a true winter-inspired Christmas right in the heart of Florida.
My favorite way to spend time here at Christmas is to cozy up in one of the oversized wooden rockers near the roaring fireplace. By light of the giant Christmas tree, all is calm and bright in the Wilderness Lodge lobby!
1- Grand Floridian
Of course, the Grand Floridian tops our list this year. Yes, the Victorian inspired 3-story lobby with its chandelier-bearing rotunda celling is enough to make Disney fans weak in the knees in and of itself, it’s that life size gingerbread house that lands it in our #1 spot!
This year, the gingerbread house is decked out in rich 50th anniversary hues that truly set it apart from houses in years past. The shop located inside the house is up and running serving up the famed gingerbread shingles as well as other treats!
